Seven Ranges Scout Reservation (Directions and Map) information for 2008:
Seven Ranges, in the Buckeye Council in Northeastern Ohio, is a wonderful Boy Scout Camp that has great traditions, facilities, food, staffed programs and fun. Members of our Troop have been attending camp at Seven Ranges for the past 12 years. "7R" has an 83 year old camp honors program called "Pipestone" named after the blood-red stone quarried by Native Americans in Minnesota and earned by the 7R camp honorees each year. Mr. Fletcher earned his fifth year pipestone honor at camp when he was a Scout in the Buckeye Council. We have Seventeen Troop members who have completed the five year program and hold the Fifth Year Pipestone. Many fifth year pipestone holders (who must be at least Life Scout in Rank) go on to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, including 11 of our members who have earned the fifth year camp honor as a youth. Certain rank advancements and other requirements are necessary to earn the pipestone each year. Candidates must gather pipestone wood.
